"Northern Maine Christmas"

The pines are white with snow
And the old north wind blows hard tonight,
It's twenty-five below,
Can you see the dancing glow of the northern lights?
Santa's on his way
His reindeer and his sleigh bells in the sky,
Everybody knows
It's Christmas up in northern Maine tonight.

Chorus:

Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel,
à Votre Sante, Here's to your health
And here's to the season, that brings us good cheer
Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

Across the border bridge
Canada is twinkling in lights,
On the streets of Fort Kent, Maine
Everybody's shopping late tonight.
Madawaska, Eagle Lake,
Allagash, St. Francis, Soldier Pond,
Better go to sleep,
Santa's on his way, it won't be long.

Repeat Chorus

At the airport in Presque Isle,
Eight reindeer and a sleigh went flying by,
Caribou's next in line,
New Sweden, St. Agatha in just a while.
You know he won't get lost,
Santa knows the way too well by now,
Van Buren close your eyes,
Frenchville can you hear bells in the sky?

Repeat Chorus

Volunteers from Northern Maine
will do a nice gift wrap, with ribbon and gift card, for an extra $2.00!

About the Song: "Northern Maine Christmas"

The song was written by novelist Cathie Pelletier, while driving home to Maine for Christmas. The writer, singers, musicians, graphic design artist , webmaster, and all the folks who will oversee sales and orders have donated hours of their time to make this song available in order to raise money for charity. It’s their hope that northern Mainers living all over the world will be carried home for Christmas, however briefly, when they hear this holiday song.

This song is dedicated to all the wonderful towns and cities in Northern Maine, and to the people who make them special. May you have a Northern Maine Christmas!
